A Finish Strong Success Story

Finish Strong was honored to partner with Animal Care to organize a challenging charity cycling event to provide essential animal care services for those who are less fortunate. RACE REPORT: SUNNY KING & NOVANT HEALTH CRITERIUMS BY: Johnny Mitchell - Finish Strong Elite Cycling  Category 1 Racer Home: Florence, South Carolina The weekend of April 5th the Finish Strong Elite Team traveled to Anniston, Alabama for the Sunny King Criterium. Finish Strong had a team of four racing the NCC Pro 1 criterium, a team of four racing the Cat 2 criterium, and a team of two racing the Cat 3 criterium. In the Cat 3 race, Micah Milne stayed attentive near the front the entire race, and with two laps remaining put in a HUGE attack. He quickly got eight seconds clear of the field. It looked like a brilliantly timed attack, but going up the final hill...

The Ride 4 Animal Care benefitting Greenville County Animal Care

April 08, 2014

The Ride 4 Animal Care launched our Second Chance Fund Gov’t Assistance Spay/Neuter Program at Animal Care. This program reaches a very important demographic of folks who need extra help to keep their beloved pets happy and healthy in their homes. It provides spay/neuter of cats for just $15.00 and spay/neuter of dogs for just $30.00. If they need a rabies vaccination, that is provided at no charge. It is so amazing to see the thanks in people’s eyes when they are able to get this low a price and take care of their animal friends like they need to. It has been incredibly successful, with already over 350 pets spayed/neuter since October, 2013 when it started. We have used...

Cheryl the Warrior!

March 17, 2014

There is in life the excitement of knowing there is a surprise and with anticipation waiting for it to explode, the thrill of Awe!! The expectation of exciting news, those are all the emotional highs when what we are hoping for is "good" and can be almost euphoric, but what about when we are not waiting, not excited, not expecting? Then what? How does our heart respond? Can it jump with joy, can we muster a thankful Hallelujah? Can we know and believe the "why not me" instead of the "why me?" Can it become a not about "what now" or "what next", but about what God's going to do with this--how will I allow Him to be revealed--how will...

2014 Rouge Roubaix Race Report

March 11, 2014

by: Johnny Mitchell Finish Strong Elite Cyclist Category 1 racer Resides: Florence, SC Terrible Roads, Flexing' Muscles, and Bloody Knuckles: Our Rouge Roubaix Experience Let me start by saying two things. 1. Our team is not only a talented group, but also a fun group to hang out with. And 2. You will never again hear this cyclist complain about the road conditions at the Donaldson Center. When I heard the stories and read the e-mails from the race promoter, I thought it was all hype. I didn't think it would be so bad. I have seldom been so wrong. The group making the trip was Andrew Crater, Shane Braley, Brian Arne, Parker Kyzer, Justin Meade, Hank Booth, Jake Hill,...
